I can't install OPENSTEP on VPC7 i use the right drivers i using a 1GB disk and 128MB ram without usb.
and when it starts NeXT Mach Operating System.

looks like it didn't like your CD image...

I vaugely recall when I installed NS on VPC/OSX that I had to use a physical disc...

nope it did not work do you have a iso image of the cd that you can send to me?

I've been in the middle of this prolonged move for the last year.. My cube & OpenSTEP stuff is in Miami, the only thing I have in New York is my Nextstep CD's...

you can not install OPENSTEP on VPC7 (not compatible hardware emulation or something), read here;

it works fine with VPC5 (I sussesfully installed it with this manual on VPC6)

I have found that out so i tried VPC5 and it does not work mayb it is the cd i have?

I've installed NeXTStep and OpenStep under VPC 5 under OS9 years ago.  I have not tried under VPC7 though.  The only trick I remember was the the CD and the Hard drive have to be on the same IDE cable.  So in VPC you had to mess around to simulate that.  After that it was a pretty straight forward install.  Plus I had the driver diskettes ready when needed.
