Well, it's time to thin out things a bit in the house... and the SGI gear needs to go. I have two SGI Indigos:
1.) R4000 MIPS CPU, 48MB memory, LG1 graphics [bad power supply, no hard drive]
2.) MIPS 4400 150MHz R5 cpu, 112mb memory, GR2 ELAN graphics, two 433mb drives and an external 4.3gb drive, IRIX 6.2 [boots without an issue last I used]
extras --> 3.5" floppy drive, internal tape drive, an extra sled or two, 21" SGI color monitor, AUI to 10baseT adapter, two keyboards, two mice, IRIX 5.2 media
Both cases are in good condition. The monitor, keyboards and mice have minor yellowing due to age. This is an awesome computer with lots of spare parts and extras that took be about two years to assemble. But it's time for new things so hopefully out there is interested. I'm looking for $275'ish for the lot... not including shipping (which needs to be delt with buy whom ever buys this). Any questions email eric dot drosnock at gmail dot com.
Honestly would jsut like to get these guys out of my house... anyone interested? Let me know and we can work out something. Not looking for a minimum at this point... possibly even a trade if you have anything that's on the block. The only thing is I would prefer not to have to box and ship these guys (the monitor is about 70 lbs and just one of the cases and accessories is about 70 lbs). Shoot me an email if you're curious about this...
You know, if I had more space/time, I'd love to get another SGI. Back in the day, I used to have a couple besides my all my other boxes. I got my first SGI, an R3000 Indigo from Nekonoko, before he got out of the Air Force when we were stationed together at Seymour-Johnson. After seeing his R4000 system, I eventually picked one up off Ebay. Then when I was getting out of the Air Force myself, I made the mistake & got rid of them. One thing SGI did know how to do was make a real nice graphic workstation. I stop by his site everyonce in a while just to check out his awesome screenshots. I hope they go to a good home.
That R4400 looks pretty but since I already have one I can only recommend them. The good thing is that they are really cheap to ship.
I sent you an email.
My friend wants the R4400 for Christmas.
I've got a spare R4K I think but can't remember its status....
