Just joined and thought I would introduce myself.
At present I am a Mac Head. Been using Apple's since the 70s. I do have this infatuation with the NeXT though. Back in the 90s after NeXT was basically going out but before Apple merged with NeXT I purchased a NeXTcube Turbo with big old 21" Hitachi Monitor and also collected all sorts of older NeXT stuff including a NeXTslab. I was acquiring NeXT goodies like NeXTworld Magazines and stuff like that as a hobby. I even for a year produced a newlsetter, an actual mailed copy on paper, called @Society (or was it NeXTsociety). It was all about NeXT. I did it all on the NeXTcube. It was fun. I had copies of those newsletters lying around for years but when I moved 6 years ago they all went in the trash. I should have kept some copies. Oh well! I wrote little articles and stuff like that. I only did it for a year so I think it was like 6 issues.
Anyway.... 8-)
I have this dream that Apple will one day produce a computer again with not only an Apple logo, but a NeXT logo right next to it or melded together somehow. It would be a super high-end workstation, all black (I like Black computers as they seem ultra secretive and all powerful), and of course a CUBE. Smaller than a NeXTcube but bigger than the Apple G4 Cube. 100% Wireless other than power cord and video cable. Super sleek and a great NeXT logo in the front right-side an Apple logo.
Anyway, I guess I can dream.
Anyway, great sight. Maybe it will get me to buy a NeXT again. I sold all my stuff years ago and not sure a NeXTcube would get much use in my home as I habe so many older Apple's not getting used. Even my old G4 Cube sits and looks pretty. I just don't have the heart to sell it. One computer per room in case guests need a system. Maybe I need to open a computer B&B. 8-)

It's not a NeXT if it's not a perfect 1' Cube.
It's a great idea however I have this feeling that Steve would never approve of using the NeXT logo again.
Just wanted to say welcome to the forums.
Would have been nice to see something for the 10 year anniversary of the merger, but I too doubt we will ever see anything openly "NeXT related" from Apple while Steve is around.

Don´t worry about "too many computers per room", it can´t be wrong to collect some of these milestones, no matter if they are Apple or NeXT (or whatever). I haven´t been in business with computers as long as You but be assured that machines of such age are of interest in here, too. Just enjoy Your stay and have some fun - You can be sure You have registered to one of the best information sources available around the net thanks to the gorgeous administrators in here.

I sold off all my old stuff and down-sized.... so I was not on the search for old stuff. Lately though I have been thinking about getting a Nextbox again. A BeBox also. I had a BeBox back in the day. Fun little machine too.
