Hey everyone, i'm kind of a newb here, but what is the avreage price for a used next cube. My friend is offering me one for $300.
It really depends on what's included and what condition it is in.
I really don't trust ebay as a reliable place to find the average as people just love to jack the price as soon as they make the connection with apple.
I have seen cube prices range from $75 to $1500.

Also this cube has the wierd cartrige drive, or whatever it's called, but could i just hook up a scsi CD drive to install nextstep.

You mean the Magneto-Optical drive?
Most of those drives have died in the past few years for unknown reasons. If you are lucky it might be ha drive that has not died yet.
right, the Magneto-Optical drive. I had trouble finding this cube, i'll probably have even more finding the magneto disks. I'll just hook up a scsi drive. thanks

That's cool, another Canadian (Toronto here).
Other advantages to picking up a system versus buying from ebay is no shipping hassles/costs (over the border) and you'll know you'll get things in one piece. Monitors have been known to break while shipped.
Since it is a friend, ask for all the manuals and misc. items. It might be a long shot but see if he has the original box.
