i like to put a hd from a dimension cube into a "normal" one. the cube boots up but stays with a grey display, so i assume it tries to initialize the dimension display.
Does anyone know how to set the preferences from the color display to the native one? (booting into singleuser mode ans delete something?)

Did you try booting using "config=Default"? Although, I've only used this on white box hardware, so I don't know about doing this on black hardware.

unfortunatly this is only a option for white hardware, but i have a solution:
after a hard reset (unplug power cord) and after repairing the filesystem the cube is proper running.

another way would probably be to install the HDD in the mono slab, boot into single user and just overwrite the config files from /private...
the same way that you reset the root password.
(I don't have a nextstation anymore so I dont remember the exact path.)
