Okay, I've done a quick skim and search of the black hardware section but couldn't find anything....
I'm thinking about pulling the external HD from the SGI setup I have and using it on my slab... are there the same limitations for external as internal drives?
Any tips for setting up an external, secondary drive?
Same issues with partition size and disktabs apply as with the internal drives, but other than that I have not had much problem with whatever I had around. External Sun diskpacks, Zip, Jaz, SyQuest, basically everything SCSI I could find a cable or adapter for to hook it up to the back has seemed to work.
That's good to hear... I just need to decide if I want to kill the IRIX install I have for my SGI's (6.2... but I have 5.x media). But would be nice to use for a nice dyndns server, or just an intranet web server.
I should check the model and make of the drive in the ext case...
