Right now my cube looks great and all but I still need to install NeXTStep on it.
I got a good cd drive as well as the install cd however because my cube does not have an internal floppy drive (and I can't seem to get my other scsi floppy drive to work) I have no way to start the install. I could always try imaging the boot floppy to a spare scsi disk but that sounds like a chore (as well as I would have to tear one of my systems apart to get access to a scsi bus) and I can't netboot either as I have nothing to netboot from. All I got left is my 100Mb ZIP drive. How hard do you think it would be to dump the boot floppy to a zip disk and just tell the cube to boot from that? Will it even allow me to boot from a ZIP disk?
Also, I'm leaving for a two week trip in a few hours so if I don't respond to this thread for about two weeks, don't worry. I'll see it when I get back.
I picked up an external Jazz drive, and regularly use it to boot my cubes.
There's an informative PDF file in the archives that explains how to get your ZIP drive working on black hardware.
http://www.nextcomputers.org/NeXTfiles/Docs/iomega_zip.pdfAnd if you need to use a ZIP drive to boot a NEXTSTEP/Intel PC, there's a good page that explains how:

Thanks Nitro. I look into it after I clear up my Scsi issues.
