Well I managed to hack up the UAE source code so that I can now display raw bitmaps...
If anyone can point me in some way of either creating a nib or just making a 320x200 image space like UAE so I can make this thing look more... well polished... I'm at a lost there.
I'll work in some keyboard/mouse interactions tomorrow, but for now it runs the demo!.. in the 2 bit mode. I don't have a white box to test more colour depths and the version of Qemu that I'd previously patched doesn't run on Vista64....
Anyways if anyone is interested I can just mail you a copy of GLFrontier that I've pulled all the 3d stuff out of, and made to run under NeXTSTEP 3.3.
It's not a super pain to compile, but you need a MASSIVE machine to do any optimizations.. think P4 with 512mb of ram. I'm not even sure if this is possible to run on SPARC/HPPA/M68k... although I may take a passing effort in a m68k build as I'd love to play Frontier on my cube.
Anyways here is a picture:
