I have OpenStep 4.2 running in VMPlayer. It installed great and runs great except one problem with the mouse

In vmware when I click in the window I can move the mouse cursor in Openstep. However it allows the mouse to travel outside the window. It creates a problem because the same movement of the mouse moves the cursor farther in windows than the vm, so i can only use the top left corner of my screen

It didn't do this before I installed the mouse driver.

Anyone have any ideas?

Here is some more info.

It seems to not be a problem in 640x480 mode

The mouse desktop settings are what appears to be the problem. If the screen resolution is higher than 640x480 the desktop resolution won't go higher than that. It always moves the height to 480.

For now I'll run in 640x480

VMMouse uses 640x480 as default desktop size. When you use an other resolution you have to specify the desired desktop size in the VMMouse configuration panel in Configure.app since my driver can't detect that automatically. Make sure to hit returrn in each field after changing the number or it won't get used.

A restart is not needed as the new settings get activated immediately, tho you still have to save the changed configuration with Configure or they will get lost on the next reboot.

Cause of this whole thing is that VMMouse has to work as absolute positioning device towards NeXT while getting values from 0 to 100 percent of VM screen width from VMWare. So you have to tell the driver the desktop size to let it know which coord corresponds to 100 percent in each direction. I Tried a solution with relative positioning device first like the normal mouse drivers do but it didn't work due to mouse scaling on the host.
