I'm sure it can be done?! I've seen somewhere that it'll do 1GB of ram.

Anyways I've got NS running on a 3.06Ghz P4 and it's FAST...

512MB is nice, but of course I want MORE.

Hmm. if I remember correctly  you have to set a kernel parameter in System.config/Instanbce0.table to be able to use more than 512 MB.

Think it was "nbuf" as per default the system allocates only a fixed number of nbufs used to organize allocated memory. Have to look at the old usenet news for the usage. All I remember beside that is, you can't increase it indefinitely or you will get other strange problems into your system.

The correct parameter is maxmem.  For example, if you have 768 MB of memory, at the "boot:" prompt you enter maxmem=786432.  I believe that you can put that in the file /private/Drivers/i386/System.config/Instance0.table as

"Kernel Flags" = "maxmem=786432";
