I was poking around in all my stuff getting things ready to list on eBay and I found a copy of the text used in NeXT hardware support training. It's comb bound and looks like it's about 300 pages, printed on both sides. I seem to recall it being sold on eBay a long, long time ago. It even covers printer repair and it looks like the info on the printers was from Canon sources.
I'm considering scanning it into a pdf file. Should I break it up into several smaller files or leave in a big single file?
I think it would be a fine addition to ftp.blackcube.org don't you?
WOW that'd be AWESOME!! I don't think it'd matter the format... But I'd prefer a single big file so that I wouldn't lose parts of it...
Even though I did accidently give away my "Personal Mainframe" cube, I know mine is pretty long in the teeth as it were.....
I'd love to have any guide on keeping it running for another 20+ years!
Speaking of which, the first cubes shipped in 1988, right?
Did we miss the 20th?

I think Steve Jobs introduced the Cube in October 1988. Don't know the exact date, though.
The first NeXT machine I saw here in Germany was at a presentation of d'Art at my University in late 1990. However, even the basic mono NeXTstation was way out of reach for a first semester CS student :-). But, some months later, I got my very own Unix machine - a Sun 3/60...

P.S.: It would be great to get hold of a scan of the service manual!

October 12, 1988 at roughly midday in San Fran @ The Lyrical Theatre.
Here's a terrible quality version of the keynote that day - i can't find a better copy.
