Hi fellow NeXT friends.
I got my Hands finally and recently onto some "Black Hardware".
Two NeXTstations with an original Monitor, a "modern" Monitor and a 17inch Color Display.
I have two questions:
1. How can i tell if a Color Monitor works or is dead when i don´t posses a NeXTstation Color (or Cube etc.).
I pluged it in and did nothing after pressing the big knog on the front.
Is it crap or is there hope it only works when it is pluged to a NeXT?
2. The newer NeXTstation dosen´t give any signs of life. No red LED on the board and the fan stays dead after pressing the powerbutton on the keybord. Maybe this can be corrected with a little soldering? I have tested all the componets (PSU, HD, FDD, RAM) on the board that can be changed. They all work in my second NeXTstation.
Ah! A thired Question. how do i repair a NeXT-Mouse?
MfG

In most cases a dead battery, but the PSU may are also be broken.

There is no interconnection/communication/interlock between a color monitor and a color-capable NeXT. If the monitor does not power on when you hit the big button, it has a problem. They are serviceable but it takes some skill.

Well, it depends which mouse and what, exactly, is wrong with it, no?
Thanks for your help!
Somebody inserted four RAMs 180 degrees into the wrong direction.
It now works perfect!

 Aren't they keyed??
Not in the old NeXTstations! EDO RAMs have just a "Aussparung" äh recess clearance on the left side.
Lol, I've gotten too used to DIMMs on newer systems!
