Post by: mevdev on March 16, 2006, 09:50:07 PM
I have a nextstation and a colorstation and I can't use either!

help!

I need a non-adb soundbox and mouse for my color.

I guess I could probably use another non-adb mousem 4 matching sticks of ram, & caddy for next cd. Really I just need that non-adb sounbox and a non-adb mouse. please.

I'll pay

I am wanting to do development on ns3.3. I just got a really cool programming postscript book and am just reading over it dying that I can't use my machines.

Now looking at the pics on this site I realize that I not only need a non-adb soundbox and mouse, but a Y cable.

Why does this have to be so complicated?

Because someone who owns your colorstation have trashed the stuff?
BTW, i need also a bunch of y-cables :-)

Are there any specs for this mythical Y cable?

I would be willing to blowing up my machine by making one of these.

If there's demand I could sit down with a multimeter and work out a pinout of the Y-cable.  It would be possible to construct your own, but not easy.  It would probably be easiest to start with a 13W3 video cable and add on the DB19 cable to the sound box.  Finding a DB19 connector is the hard part (unless you hack up a video cable from a mono slab).

The Y-cable goes something like

Slab (13W3, all pins)=+--------------= monitor (13W3, 3 mini-coax only)
                     \-----------= sound box (DB19, 10 pins present)
