There are 2 modes for make Openstep see more than 512 MB of memory.
The first is an one time solution (you must replicate it at every boot) the second is a permanent solution.

1)
add the
maxmem=980992
at the boot prompt

2)
Open Configure.app
select the first tab (it have the buttons: [Expert...] [Save])
click on the [Expert...] button
click on the [Add] button
then add the Value maxmem=980992 for the Setting Kernel Flags
Setting      Value
Kernel Flags   maxmem=980992

Now your system can use 958 MB

The Cocoa Framework isn't ready. (It's not usable in the form put in my site)
I have a new version that is more suitable (it is installed in LocalLibrary and have many bug fixed)
But it isn't complete (I don't have again updated all the headers to reflect the last version of Cocoa/MacOSX)

When it is updated I will download the new version on my site.
(unfortunately another page with other software was removed by the host service (bzip2, file, libutf8, sha, tidy, sqlite, tre, unrar, md5, pcre, cabextract, cdrtools, db, freeze, ogg, unzip, zip).
I'm searching for a serious free web hosting service!!)

Leo,
I know you compile alot of stuff that I do as well.  Shoot me an email/pm sometime.  Maybe we can combine forces & try to improve the # of/quality of packages made for everyone.  I'm working on a few things now that it'd be great to have some help. :-)  You can even catch me on instant message.

I do not think to release the source code of the Cocoa Framework.

Perhaps one day...
