Are there any adapters floating around that let you hook up a mono nextstation to a vga crt or lcd? my 17" frog CRT is starting to get the wobble of death. :( and since the monos dont use the normal 13w3 connector... im at a loss, unless there exists a special adapter for them.
I built this because my N4000A is dead. The keyboard interface works, so I made a passthrough so I could use it.

450 Ohms for the power switch.

Doesn't that look great? :? The "T" of solder is me hooking the red, green, and blue pins from the VGA together. To the left is VSYNC and HSYNC. To the right, the ground. Above are the resistors. To the side is the straight through connection for the DB19 connector. The mess at the top is the ground connecting to the VGA and the resistor line. The upper right thing is for the shield on the cable, which grounds to the shield on the slab.

Finished product. The red is a bit out of alignment on my ViewSonic PS790, but it works enough for me to *attempt* to get stuff to boot. No luck so far. The disks are acting all screwy or something.
(edited because I forgot to turn on BBcode)
Good going! I hope you get things working. I'm sure there will be others that would like to build what works for you!
very cool. now to have something like this the lets you plug in the keyboard and completley bypass the monitor :P
I was looking into it. I think I will try my hand with using a PIC processor to interface with the serial ports on an iPod first, since I know more about doing that. Then using this:
http://www.68k.org/~degs/nextkeyboard.htmlMaybe I can come up with something. In the meanwhile, I might cannibalize the N4000A
I have some board from inside soundboxes... I can take come pictures if it might help.
I was going to use a PIC as well... I haven't started yet (been too busy).
Hy ash,
Thanks for the cable.
Some questions :
1°) why do you use resistors ?
2°) do you use a SoundBox with your cable ?
Regards.
