For those interested in tiny details, I've uploaded images of the jewel case inserts, as well as the front and back MO labels to kb7sqi's FTP server. It includes scans from NeXTstep 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.0a, 2.0, 2.1 and the MO disks that were sold as blank media.
Two of the interesting things is the removal of Mathematica and Allegro CL from the disks after 1.0a, as well as the warning insert that came with 1.0 stating that if you inserted the 1.0 disk while running 0.8 or 0.9, the 1.0 disk would be destroyed.
Ah, cool, thanks. Do you by any chance know if the allegro CL and mathematica binaries from 1.0 will run on 3.3?
I'm pretty sure people have run them on version 2.X but those programs were broke with the move to the 68040 cpu...like programs on both the Amiga and Macintosh, there were incompatabilities with the 68040 and programs written for the 68030 and below. My best guess is that if the OS version will run on the '030 Cube, you may be able to use those versions with it.
