My printer doesn't feed right on some papers, what is the best paper for this printer, brand and name!
Are you sure it's the paper and not the feed roller and gear? These are notorious for having problems. I wouldn't think the paper type would be causing an issue unless you were trying to use exceptionally thin or thick stock. Otherwise I would think most any standard 20lb copier paper would work fine in it.
What alternatives do ?I have, seems to work with tough hp paper yet there are typos. What can I do outside of getting another printer.

'Typos'? You might want to describe that failure more clearly. Sounds like you've installed the wrong kind of daisywheel.
And "Laser Jet" is an HP marketing label. NeXT had a laser printer and an ink jet printer (color). The laser printer generally has feed problems with either paper pickup or ejection. Pickup is improved by keeping the paper cassette at least half full. If problems persist, time for some attention. And I use 20 Lb paper.
The color printer is just kind of disappointing and most problems are of the clogged jet variety.
