I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions --
I recently acquired a NeXT laser printer, and the only thing I get when I print is a black page as a result. It also doesn't seem to ever finish the print job (i.e. the job stays in the queue even after the black page is printed. I am able to print correctly to a non-NeXT printer (color laser -- it even prints in color correctly!)that is spooled through my Sun box. I would really like to get this NeXT laser printer working -- like the rest of the NeXT gear, it is a beautiful, elegant design...
I tried 2 different NeXT printer cables and connecting to both my color slab and mono nextstation with the same result.

I've never encountered this really but here are some things to try. There is a density dial under the cover right by the latch. Adjust it lighter and see if you get some kind of level change. Remove the toner cartridge and look for problems that would allow toner to freely coat the imaging drum. If you can find the cleaning wand (looks like a little squeegie) clean the drum.
