Someone sent me just this but for the life of me I can't find now that I am ready to refer to it. Please send out again, seems like this is not uncommon and is a problem that can be taken care of - ASAP.

drshmooz201, I can understand your frustration if you're just starting out w/ a NeXT system. Trust me, when I bought my first system, I was clueless also. But after seeing serveral posts asking for help on fonts, netinfo, installing apps, etc., it's pretty obvious you need to do some research/reading on howto use/admin a NeXT system whether it be m68k/x86/sparc/gecko. Please don't take offense to what I'm saying. I don't mean it in a bad/disrespectful way. But truly the only way you're going to learn this, is by reading & then doing. TjL's pdf referenced above & in a few other replies to your posts, tell you exactly howto fix a corrupt netinfo file. You delete a few files in /etc/ & then cd to /usr/template/client/etc & copy those files back to /etc. Then reboot. Log back in as the "me" user, set the password, log out & log back in as root. Start all over again at setting up your networking. Now, about your "fonts." After you copy/installed the Font's to your /LocalLibrary/Fonts or ~/Library/Fonts/ did you cd into that directory & run /usr/bin/buildafmdir? If you're in /LocalLibrary/Fonts, you'll need to be root. You have to run the buildafmdir command to update the system so it knows you have new fonts installed. Once you do that, when you start up WordPerfect or what ever app that needs/want those fonts should see them. The NeXT system comes w/ some truly good docs if they were installed. RacerX has a great site w/ LOTS of valuable information on it. He referenced the channelu site that has a great deal of the manual's online. I'd kick back & spend a few hours reading thru them. You might find yourself suprised. I'll be honest. I don't remember/know everything. I even from time to time browse thru them. ;-) Again, I didn't mean any offense. Just wanted to offer that sometimes needed RTML hint. Take care.
Thanks no offense taken, I need as much positive criticism as I can get. At least now maybe I can get those fonts working.
Now for the difficult, eliminating the netinfo error on install of static ip modem.
You delete a few files in /etc/ & then cd to /usr/template/client/etc & copy those files back to /etc.
when I enter this command cp -rp netinfo /etc the computer refuses to accept anymore data and I am not able move on.
