So...  I was in a computer store here in Cleveland the other day, and found something, shall I say, interesting.

Not 1, but 2 Daystar Genesis MP systems.

I asked about them, and was told 'If I bought one, I had to take the other one...'

Quick specs on the systems.

Both have 4 604e processors, at 233MHz each, 1536 MB ram, and 6 9.1GB ultra160 scsi drives on an adaptec controller.

I'm guessing they were used for video editing, however no hardware or software for that.

$10 dollars, a backache, and a less-than-happy wife later, I'm quite pleased!

Install the BeOS!!! It'll do SMP with all 4 processors. Bar possibly Linux, no other OS will do them justice!

not to resurrect a dead post, but after a flood, one of the 2 systems was destroyed...  Happens to be the one I scavenged all the ram and such for out of the other system

It did run BeOS wonderfully!!

Now I have a 'bare bones' system left, and I honestly need the room as I acquired a 'new' NeXTstation Turbo Color, and an SGI Indy from the TV station I work at...

At a closer look, it has the quad 180MHz 604e card, making it the Genesis MP 720, I believe.

It has no ram, or video card, but does have a CD-Rom drive.

I was going to post it on EBay, but I figured my chances of someone here wanting it is much better than EBaying it...

When I last ran it, it worked perfect...  My other option is if anyone has ram and a PCI video card that would work, and they'd be willing to part with them, I might rebuild it...

If you're interested either way, send me a PM with an offer!

Trades welcome (Working Color Classic, etc...)
