About a year ago I decided to get my first NeXT, a mono 25mHz slab. It was a steal at only $30 incl. shipping.
The only problem is it didn't come with a soundbox, keyboard, or mouse. :( I didn't realize how proprietary NeXT hardware is.
Anyway, until I am able to find a Soundbox and keyboard, I built this simple cable to connect my NeXTstation to a little craptastic
monitor. It was extremely easy to make and required no soldering!!! I originally planned on connecting it to my 17" Dell Trinitron,
but experienced some minor ghosting issues. However, it seems to work just fine on an AOC Spectrum 4Vlr.
(the distorted screen geometry in the last picture is a monitor issue, not a cable issue)
How do you use a keyboard and mouse with this type of adapter? I have made and used a DB19 to DB10/VGA Y-cable in order to use a keyboard and mouse (requires soundbox), what do you do with this adapter to use the mouse and keyboard?
Well to be completely honest...I don't. :( I don't actually have a keyboard, mouse, or soundbox. I want to get my hands on one and see if I can do a little reverse-engineering. I made this adapter to see if I could actually get my slab to come on and display something on a screen.
