Hi,
I've recently moved from a single-buffer 1MB CGSIX GX framebuffer to a TurboGX (TGX4) double buffered card with 4MB memory. Booting OpenSTEP 4.2 shows that the machine recognizes the double-buffer capable card and it sees the full 4MB of framebuffer space.
Do I need to tell the OpenSTEP GUI to enable double buffering since it was installed on a single-buffer only capable machine, or is it automatically enabled whenever double buffering is available?

It should just work. :-) I never changed anything on my system when I swapped the cards. Now, when I changed it to a 24 bit card, I had to change the driver in the Configure.app. One good thing about Sparc's/Gecko's, there isn't too many choices for hardware, so most things just work like on the m68k boxes. I love both my Sparc 5/Gecko. ;-) Have a great new year!
