Hi Guys
Are there any more pictures from the NeXT sign? , and where can I get the dimensions of the sign?
Thanks
well I decide to create a NeXT sign replica, but I need to find out the type font used I guess is like a Helvetica Roman
does anyone know if thsi is the right font, and please let me know where can I download it.
Thanks
Well, I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but NeXT used
Frutiger extensively. That is the font set that I use for the NeXT section of my site for titles and the like.
The actual fonts I use (in both Rhapsody and OPENSTEP) can be found
here (
http://www.shawcomputing.net/resources/next/software/ns-os-rhap_fonts/font_collection/col_f/). It should also work just fine in NEXTSTEP.

Many thanks for the fonts, I was looking for NeXT fonts, but the general idea is to creat the NeXT sign
http://www.nextcomputers.org/NeXTfiles/Images/Rare_NeXT_Hardware/Misc/Logo_Sign/and I wonder, what type of font the logo uses, then I will need a font that I can install on una use in Autocad to create the model, then I can plot the model and start the lasser cutting.
Thanks
The "N" and "e" look like their Century Gothic (in Mac OS X)... the "X" and "T" are most likely not an actual type face (they wouldn't really need to be anyways). But all of it can be done without any fonts (those aren't exactly complex letters). Using that font and about five minutes of time in
Create I came up with this...
I'm sure that more time would produce better results (but I don't really have the time), and if you are planning on a physical (back-lit) model, you are going to need to cut the letters out anyways (and there are no fonts for cutting that I know of... just good hand-eye coordination).
Best of luck... and be sure to show us what you come up with!
why are you complicating all this? why do not you use just the vectorised NeXT logo? all curves that you need are there ...

do you have it? I will like to have it but without colours, only the wire as it would be better to Gcode it
Thanks
I have a 3D solid model of a NeXTcube that was created back in 2004 which includes the NeXT logo. It was done with Autodesk Inventor software, so I could convert that to an AutoCAD drawing file if it would be helpful. You would need to scale it to the proper size of your sign as it's currently the size of the Cube emblem.
Would it be possible to get them ?
does anone one in the forum knows Kenjay, I have send him some PM asking if he can post more details about the NeXT sign, but not luck
Thanks
Here's an AutoCAD drawing of the Cube logo. It's not perfect but should provide a good starting point.

It would be interesting to 3D print one and convert it to LEDs.
