Hi,

is it just my NeXTStation, or is Configure.app broken somehow in NeXTStep 3.3/m68k ? I bought a slab, configure.app was broken there so I thought "fresh install can't hurt", did it and bang, it's the same again!

Configure.app is not for 68K.  Black hardware is self-describing and self-configuring (unlike old PC hardware).

Yeah, I thought that might be the case, just surprised me it's still installed (yet broken). Thanks for confirming my highest hopes (I do love this machine more and more :))) Too bad the monitor couldn't have been shipped, but it looks just fine with 21" SGI dark-blue GDM :) BTW, I hope that  a slab can take the weight of large trinitrons, just like all other unix pizza-boxen?

Oh it will. You can get similar sized monitors for NeXT systems.
