Title: VNC connection to Mac OS X

I set up my NEXTSTEP system again. It is an HP 712/100 with 192MB RAM running NS 3.3.

I tried to connect to my Mac OS X 10.5 system via VNC using the VNC Viewer 0.91 from Frank Siegert, but I got an "Exception" error.

Does anyone know, which version of the VNC server works with the NS VNC Viewer? The one, which is built into Leopard obviously not...

You could try using a lighter third-party server on your Mac OS X system, such as Vine Server (http://sourceforge.net/projects/osxvnc/). The Apple Remote Desktop server appears to create problems with some third-party clients.

I'd agree.  I've had more luck using Vine Server than Apple's Remote Desktop.  I haven't tried it in a while, but I've used both the NEXTSTEP VNC Client & the much better OPENSTEP client as well w/ Vine Server.  I know that don't help you a whole lot though Hanul running NEXTSTEP 3.3 on the gecko.  Good luck.
