Trying to setup the network but I'm getting a message unable to start Edit.app because it is damaged.
Anyone offer any assistance?

Hm, sounds crazy. You should get another (or a few :-) SCSI drive in external case and install NeXTstep fresh on these drives and copy the content of LocalApps and LocalLibrary to the new drive.
You can also try to copy the edit.app from the fresh installed drive to the old one, if no other is damaged.
