All,

I am moving from the beach on sunny Hawaii to inland in not so sunny Germany to go to graduate school.  I have some old vintage Macintosh PowerPC games to clear out.  I'll give them away for the cost of shipping, or free with local pickup.

I have:

1.  Apple desktop bus Joystick.
2.  Falcon 4.0 for PowerPC in box with all manuals
3.  Origin Wingcommander 4 in box with all manuals
4.  Hoyle Casino for Macintosh.
5.  Hoyle boardgames for Macintosh.

These games all require classic to run on a PowerPC mac.  I estimate shipping to be $10 per item, or I could combine items if interested.

My friends tell me Germany usually exports scientists, not imports them.  I guess they exported too many and are trying to get a few back in return...

Well, yes... you definitely have quite some advantages if you come from the other side of the pond - especially, if you come from a more-or-less well-known University. OTOH, many good scientists actually leave (at least for some years, most to the US) and there are (expensive) programs to win some of them back.

This sucks, especially for people who stayed in Germany, to earn their PhD... like me :-D

But, depending on the University you attend, it can actually be quite fun (but if I had the chance to choose between Hawaii and Germany... well... I hate rain ;-)).

Cuby,

I am going attend the TU-Ilmenau because it is a smaller campus-centric school where I think I will fit in at and will complement my interests in Mechanical Engineering.  My wife is from Germany and will finally be able to live close to home.  So we're both pleased with the choice.

Sorry if this is off topic, but I enjoy corresponding about universities.

so off topic... :)
I was just looking for post doc positions in germany...
Looks like there are a lot of max plank institute campuses in little towns that I've never hear of. :)
Hope you have a good time!
