Last night after meaning only to quickly say thanks for the LizardVew BackSpace Screen Saver module for NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP, Bill Bumgarner, who originally wrote the module, asked me if I still had the source code to for his old screensaver he'd written back in '91. I quickly replied that I did & sent it to him. About 10 minutes later, he had it converted & running on Leopard. :-) It also sparked some "NeXT" twitter activity for a while last night. It was fun. If you're interested, Bill Bumgarner has posted a blog entry on his web site along w/ the converted screensaver for Leopard for download. It runs great. :-)
http://www.friday.com/bbum/Thought everyone might like to know. I thought it was cool it only took him 10 minutes to get it running. Bill works @ Apple these days, but still has a NeXT cube w/ three dimension boards. I was trying to re-spark that interest in NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP. ;-)
Cool.
Also holy shit, 3 dimension boards? He should spread the wealth...

I can just imagine how hot the computer room would get w/ a Cube w/ 3 Dimension boards & 3 21" NeXT Monitors running. lol. I'd have to go w/ LCD's! :-)
awesome! my dream machine is a turbo cube with 3 dimensions... see if he will take a photo of it :)
I just tried this screen saver on Mac OS X v10.6 but it doesn't seem to be working. I just get the message it won't run on this version of Mac OS X.
After that i tried the NeXTStep-Version in my virtual machine (VMWare Fusion, NS 3.3) but it runs way too fast. Any idea how i can slow this down?
Maybe someone can compile the screensaver for Mac OS X v10.6
It would be a nice one!
