I finally managed to get a Bebox :D Picked it up Saturday. Currently has a dead hdd. I'll have to pop another one in it in a few days.
Some photos of it are located HERE (

very nice! i noticed it had the "not approved by fcc" sticker on, so my question is...how on earth did you get your hands on a prototype BeBox!
well, I don't think its actually a prototype, it is just an early production unit that was shipped out to devs before the FCC compliance testing was done. It is unit 966, at least I think it is given the serial number.
Congrats on snagging a BeBox Helf :D
It is high on my list of machines to acquire, but just have not had the funds to grab any of the recent ones for sale.
yeah, the prices are insane. I got lucky with this one. A guy I know that owned two popped up a few weeks ago and offered me this one. i didn't have the money until friday when someone contacted me and bought my octane2's V12 graphics card.
I think all of them have the not FCC approved sticker, but maybe the 133s do. I remember a post (.plan? Be dev newsletter?) from Joe Palmer talking about having the BeBox FCC tested. None of these were ever offered for retail sale - they were only sold through the dev program (or, after they closed, some at auction).
ADDITION:
Hey, lookie there - search for "FCC testing" on this page:

ah, OK. That would explain it.
congrats Helf. I know you'll make good use of it
