I would like to get an App like OmniWeb running and connect to the NET.
Is this possible? Any FAQs out there to get me started?
Thanks
Assuming you have a home network that is Internet accessable, you can just edit your hostconfig file in the /etc directory. This is the easiest way in my opinion to get you NeXT online... it's how I configure mine. Using you favorite line editor in the terminal open up hostconifig, edit your settings and save the file (all of this must be done under root). reboot the system and off you go... this will also allow you to access other computer systems on your network. If you need specifics on how to do this, I can post instructions... but I would suggest having a light comfortablity with UNIX for this.
omniweb on nextstep is like netscape 2.0... very OLD, and on a 68040 25mhz with 40mb of ram, its SLOW.
Ok now that im done with that, Ive got mine on the net, its simple. The only 'gotcha' is that the netconfig incorrectly does not setup the gateway correctly. (nextstep 3.3)
So what kind of hardware & what os?!
I think the best way was the one that was on Tim Luoma's site at Peak, but that's gone, I do however have it as a .pdf, PM me and I'll email it to you.

im just frustrated with things you cant do with safari vs. IE5, just imagine how many pages you wouldnt be able to show correctly!
At least thats what sites use to target the blind. But then the major things just ignore handicap markets all together. And its kinda sad to think of NeXTSTEP as being crippled. But then it is circa 1988.
(Yes as a post this from ie 5.5 on terminal server 4.0 running under virtual server on XP Pro).
