I had the brilliant idea that I could pull all my WordPerfect files off my NeXT boxes by copying them to floppies and then transfering from the floppies to USB flash drive on a Linux Thinkpad 390E & then copying them to a dual boot Thinkpad T43 with Windoze XP (with WP Office x 4) & Ubuntu.
Trying to use a DOS formatted floppy I get the old "file name to long" problem. Mac formatted floppies aren't recognized & NeXT formatted floppies give me all sorts of permission problems.
Is there a simple way to do this - or am I just wasting my time?

tar the files and give them an 8.3 file name. :)
