Title: NeXT Dimension cube

Hello All:
I also have a ND cube that I've been considering letting go to a home that would appreciate and get some use out of it.  This cube is an ex-US gov't  [National Reconnaisance Office] box that was hand picked out of a group of 100 or so cubes.  It is an excellent condition with no gouges or dings that are typical for Cubes.  It is maxed out on RAM (128Mb) and has dual ND boards installed, all max'd out in RAM as well.  Dual ND cubes are EXCEEDINGLY rare.  I think I have (in storage) two 20" NeXT monitors that  are in likewise fine condition.  Many have switched to flat panel monitors, so it's your choice. Since this cube is ADB, the video output is (I believe) 72Hz, and many flat panels don't digest this frequency well. Naturally, the NeXT CRT monitors [made by Hitachi] have no such problems. I have a spare cube power supply and various and sundry extra bits that would go with it. (cables, etc).

I believe the cube is running 3.3, but I have 4.2 disks as well.  The hard drive is one of the full height drives, and I have an original NeXT CD player.  Slow, but classy and somewhat collectible. Some folks have installed in internal scsi CD drives and they look very nice.   I don't have a complete list of installed apps, but it's a pretty considerable list.  At one time I had a Daydream box attached, and happily ran all Mac OS 7.5 apps like a native machine!

I am not in the "grab every dollar I can get for this box" mode, but would like to recoup some percentage of my investment.  For now I'd like to get a feel for how much interest is there.  Your thoughts? EBay is a possibility, but one of last resort.

I am putting together some digital pictures of the box for those interested.

regards,
gregor
