Rest In Peace

Actually, I hope it all gets a good workout and very little sleep.  But thanks for the parts over the years.

Ron, I've purchased many NeXT parts from you in the past.  Thank you. :)

After acquiring a cube with no disk or OS and failing to receive a SCSI disk I bought from blackhole, Ron saved me and allowed me to resurrect my machine.
Thankyou sir!

Title: Is Blackhole still in business on ebay?
Post by: eabenson on November 30, 2009, 10:53:48 PM
Blackhole listed 5 slabs today in their ebay store. Two color and three mono. Are these leftovers that were not included in the lot as stated in the post by Ron on Nov. 16th? I've dealt with Ron in the past (12 years ago) and purchased some nice Next systems from him. I still have one Cube system that runs like a champ.

There's been some unfavorable comments about Blackhole on this site, including one by russianmountain in this thread.

Anybody else have a recent experience with Blackhole that is either good or bad? Anyone have more information about the demise of Blackhole? Ron are you out there?

Thanks, from a new member looking for answers.

I'm a satisfied customer both in the distant past (90's) and recently (past year).  The negatives seem to be sourced from one or two individuals multiplied by the "I heard somewhere" factor of nth-hand information.

I have dealt with Black Hole for 8 years or more, Rob has always been great to me, he has never let me down.

The buyer was not the Black Hole.

It is up to the buyer to release this information if they desire.

Black Hole is Rob Blessin, separate from Ron Fronberg.

I have bought various components from both people. Ron has always been exceptional to deal with, and apart from an issue with a hard disk some years ago, Rob has always been reliable and pleasant. My understanding is that Rob had a 'perfect storm' of problems at one point, so one mistake is, IMHO, forgivable.

Thanks, gtnicol, for clearing up my confusion regarding Blackhole. I meant to address Rob Blessin in my original post. Sorry, ronfronberg, for the confusion.

My questions have been answered. Thank you all!

Ron, this is the ultimative NeXT picture 8) . Thank you very much for sharing it. A ten year old question "what else does he have in his NeXT barn" was finally answered.

Has always been a pleasure to deal with you, I have a lot of nice memories about it.

Greetings from Germany
Andreas

Hello Lebowski: Hey I'll make good on that disk deal ! Just send me your shipping info and I'll send you a drive , Ill cover everything , this was not intentional , I think you were probably one of the ones involved in my server crash disaster ~ 2007 at any rate, better late than never. Regarding Ron's equipment holy guacamole , if the buyer wants to contact me I'm interested in buying some of your stuff or putting you in touch with customers that need it. Win Win situation! Best regards Rob Blessin

The photo hides a lot  of the boxes.  There are 4 rows of boxes that went from the sidewalk, left side of picture, to the bushes on the right.  There were over 300 boxes.
