Hi,

  Just got a 110MHz ss5 with 256MB Ram. Tried booting and installing OpenStep 4.2 on the box, but keep getting a memory access error right after I select the new install option and it starts listing the hardware in my machine. I then get a continue 'c' or reboot 'r'. Any ideas?

This might be a little late but:

try reseating the memory modules, test the memory from the boot monitor (with "test-mem" or something like that, see also "help diag").

After coming back to try the installation over X-Mas break, I did a smart thing and figured out I have the 170Mhz version of the SS5, thus it is incompatible. I just purchased a 110 and replaced 170 with that. All good now :-)
