Hi everybody,

after getting a new notebook I copied my VMware 5.5 installation of NextStep 3.3 over to my new machine, running VMWare 6.5.2.

I had everything running fine under 5.5, but now my network connection is acting strangely. I have configured the VMware network adapter as a NAT interface, I can ping my host machine and vice versa, but I am unable to get a proper ftp connection. The 'ls' will wait forever, and downloads and uploads will not work.

Anybody else here with similar problems and perhaps some suggestions?

Hehe, got it fixed now.

I just had to add an entry in Vmware network settings.

Go to: VM Network Editor -> NAT tab, choose Edit -> NAT settings -> Port forwarding

Add an entry for
Host port: 8887
VM IP address: <your vmhost IP>
Port: 21
description: ftp

Apply the settings, et voila!

:D
