Were there ever any digital cameras and apps on NeXTSTEP that actually let you upload photos direct into a NeXT?  I owned one of those 1st Apple digital cameras so if my old Quadra 800AV could do it, I would think someone must have connected cameras to a NeXT.

Or, did that never come to fruition?

2 options come to mind, the Digital eye, which I think let you hook a color video camera to a next slab... and there are SCSI compact flash readers.
Don't know if you could get at SCSI multi-card reader.

There is no serial solution. Digital cameras came after the good times of NeXT and by the time cameras like the QuickTake came out, NeXTSTEP and OpenSTEP were long gone.
The Digital Eyes solution was the only other way to grab images from some sort of video source but they are quite rare.

Some early Kodac digital cameras with serial ports had Linux support (AFAIK). Porting the communication software and finding or making an adapter shouldn't be too hard, but I don't see why anyone would waste his time on that. Those cameras take horrible pictures.
