Got an external 600E, with terminator. Inserted my Openstep 4.2 CDROM, doesnt load up, cdrom works fine on my PC to install Openstep. Is the x86 and Motorola CD the same? I setup the ID as 6 and 4, Nextstation Sees the drive as Matsushita (Panasonic...) Any ideas?

If you use a terminator on the external CD-ROM, I believe you need to disable termination on the internal Hard drive.  Or vise-versa (if internal Hard Drive has termination enabled, disable the termination on the external CD-ROM)... Can anyone confirm how-to properly connect?

Tried doing Terminated/Unterminated. Same result. Maybe my drive is bad... like the lens or whatever.. tried cleaning the lens with a Lens CD, but didnt work. I saw my HD is set as ID 0 though.

If you think the drive us bad, give the cd lens a real good cleaning. I did this on an apple cd I just received and it went from dead to working. Qtip with alcohol on lens may do wonders. Tj
