This is my 2nd Kensington trackball. It does not work. I know the trackball works, but not on my ADB NeXT. I have a regular mac ADB mouse which works fine.. I have tested two of these trackballs. It's a V5.0 trackball. Mouse cursor is there, but won't move... what gives?
My understanding is if it's a silver/blue model that also works with USB, the ADB implementation is compromised.

Q: Can I use Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) devices made by third party manufacturers with my Next ADB port?
A: Some. For example, the Kensington TurboMouse works as a plain track ball (the programmable features are MacOS specific). The Apple DB Mouse II is only recognized by the system if the mouse button is depressed while the system configures itself for hardware devices (otherwise, the system starts up but the cursor is frozen on the screen). Later Kensington mice/trackballs have been reported to not work very well with ABD Next systems.
Otherwise, you might try holding down one of the primary buttons during boot.
Held the button down. Same thing. I really wanted a trackball.. but no go here. At least I only spent $12 for the trackball. Thanks, I read the FAQ but missed that part..
It's a beige one, probably around 10-13 years old. I guess I need an older revision.
