I have started the process of building an adapter for a VGA/LCD display and PC mouse/keyboard. I sacrificed a mono video cable and spliced in some leads so I could feed everything out to a breadboard (lots of soldering). After a (very) little prototyping I got the monochrome output mirrored on an LCD.

Next up will be the power switch, then keyboard and mouse, and maybe the sound as well. If all goes well, I should have enough information to build the moral equivalent of a sound board for modern machines.
