Hello,

remove ALL external cables from the cube.

Then you'll need an inbus tool size 3 to open the four screws near the corners of the backplate, they don't come out complete. Now you can carefully put the backplate a view centimeters away , unplugg the cable of the fan at the rubber part connected to the fan. Put the backplate completely away now.

Pull the motherboard out a little bit (best done with both hands, carefully and with less force), it is not fixed by screws, it's just plugged in. Pull it out ca. 8 centimeters, then you have to unplugg the SCSI cable on it. If there is a cable from a MO connected to the motherboard unplugg it, too. Don't pull the little plastik handle(s) at the end of the cable too hard, it/they could break. Pull the board out now and put it away, best in or on a antistatic bag, keep waterglasses children and pets away from it ;-) . If you have a dimension board in your cube remove it, too. Write down at which position which board was before removing it, so it's easier to put it together later.

At the bottom of the powersupply are two screws, remove them with the inbus tool.

Now put the cube face down on a soft, clean towel. You can now more or less easily pull the whole cage with the drives and the powersupply out! To do this grap the cage to the left and right of the harddisk, in the middle. Maybe a second person should hold down the cube case when you do it the first time.

Now as you have the cage out you see the usual screws to the left and right which hold the harddrive. Maybe there is a MO and a dust filter. The filter can be put away by pulling it off, no screws.
Here again: when unplugging the SCSI-/MO-cable off the drives take care you don't pull the little black plastic handle at the cables end too hard, otherwise it could brake.

That's it, quite easy. If you want to go sure no compontent dies of static electricity you should ground yourself or touch a water tap or something that takes electricity off of you.

I use cotton gloves when touching blank computer parts like the cage cause I don't like fingerprints that often remain as corrosion spots after a while, not nice and there are enough from former owners. But that's your thing.

That's all. Putting together vice versa ..

If something's missing, wrong or can't be understood (I'm obviously no native English speaker) would an admin please correct it, thanks :P .

I'm not responsible for damage of persons or hardware, you do it at your own risk, if unsure please ask before breaking someone or something.
