I don't know if this has been discussed before, but is there any way to replace the recycler icons in NS3 and up with the old blackhole icons? Would the animation still work by simply replacing the tiff files?
I believe it is possible. if i'm not wrong the tiffs are in WM.app (workspaceManager), itself hidden in an unix path.
Do you have the original tiff ?
I have OD dumps of 1.0 and 2.0 but I couldn't find the "black" icons. I'll try again tomorrow in case I missed them somehow.
Nope, no sign of them. Perhaps the old recycler didn't use tiff files after all.
the black icons are in the site's ftp archive, and come with an installation package that does all the work for you.
Ah I see it's been updated. The copy I have lying around here is 2.0 and doesn't have the recycler icons. I'll try 2.4 later. Thanks for the heads-up!
For info, usualy before NS3.0 icons and other images were included directly in the application code.
When I couldn't find any tiffs I figured it might be something like that. Is there any way to extract such images from NeXT binaries?
