I mean, it is a good question, the installer can see it, why not openstep?

Hmm. maybe a missing IDE or SCSI driver. The drivers you select and load during install don't make it to the running system necessarily.

It's black NeXT hardware...

Is there just some driver on the boot floppy not included in the system?

It's quite odd...

I'm trying to get the other two cds on the system to mess with, but once Openstep is installed, the CD doesn't work anymore...

Edit:

If I reinsert the boot floppy, and double click on it after booted, CD-ROM works!!

Did you set your  cd-drive SCSI-ID to 6 after install ?
