Can you read FAT formatted (DOS) 1.44MB floppies in a nextstation?
Provided you have NeXTstep 2.0 or above (all through OpenSTEP 4.2) installed on your slab, you can read and write 720 K, 1.44 MB and 2.88 MB FAT-12 (that's DOS and Windows) floppies all day long. :D
My nextstation has 3.3 on it, sorry I'm a newbie to nextstep, but not linux, is it like linux mounting wise, or is it auto like macs of the day?
Steve made sure that so long as you had a floppy drive and like stated above, version 2.0 of NeXTSTEP or higher, you can read or write PC floppies no problem. Same goes for Macintosh floppies too.
If you have a NeXT Computer, it will auto-mount. But if you have a "Beige Box", you'll have to tell it to "Check For Disks." I forget which menu it's under, but you do have to look for it in the Workspace Manager.
