As a computing enthusiast, I have stepped up from recent tinkering of Apple II+'s to black NeXT hardware. So far I only have a cube at my home, but am looking at other possible pieces. I am interested in learning about these machines in general and as a 2012 hobby helping renew life into them. I created a short write up, and would welcome any feedback on inaccuracies, etc...

Has anyone repainted a cube, and would they share their process and how it turned out? Even if NeXT black paint were obtained, what would be a favorable approach for removing the old paint? Has anyone considered any form of spray paint or would that turn out worse than a cube with some existing cosmetic flaws? Renewing cosmetic appearance is of interest to me, but I have much to learn with respect to painting computing equipment.
