Have not used my NeXT for sometime as the hard drive was having issues.
Trying to get the beast running again and the NeXT Laser appears not to be seen by the Print Manager.
During startup of the NeXT I hear the NeXT Laser Printer turn on and the rollers spin or at least I hear sound from the printer like I used to.
Now when I try to print it only shows my NeXT Color Printer and not the Laser in my apps. So I launch Print Manager and both NeXT printers are listed, I highlight the NeXT Laser but the Test button is not highlighted so I can test it. So, I click Modify and try to switch the toggle bar in the access panel from Unavailable to Public, the printer starts to make sounds, then stops making sounds, then a new message appears on screen that no printer is connected to the printer port.
Obviously there is and the printer is getting signal from the NeXT since it appears to be power up.
So it seems to be connected fine, I rechecked cables, reseated a like new toner drum, and the printer does its normal whir sounds as the NeXT starts up, so weird on what is going on.
Any ideas? Is the printer having issues or the OS?
