Hi, all.  I am finally taking the time to import some of my NeXT videos, and I know I have at least one that is not in common circulation.  How can I disseminate that to interested parties?  Can I just add a directory to the "NeXT" directory in the torrent, or would the torrent need to be rebuilt?

The video I have is about Lotus Improv.

And of course I have the NeXTSTEP Release 3 video, and two others, but I know that at least one of the two others is on the DVD.

Instead of disseminating a DVD ISO, would people be interested in MP4/M4V files?  I know that, for myself, I do everything streaming today, using a gen2 720p Apple TV.  No discs for me.

Well, there's two ways to get M4V/MP4 files.  One is to reimport, and the other is to rip the DVD.  I'll probably do both and see which results in better quality.

The torrent would have to be recompiled. The neat thing about torrents is that one user with different files can't cause the additional file to spread to the other downloaders bbcause it's not listed in the file list initially uploaded to the Tracker. There's also MD5 verification to ensure that no files are swapped. It really helps to prevent the spreading of viruses.

Oh, yeah, that totally makes sense.  Well, I don't know anything about compiling torrents, but I'll look into that if others are interested in a slightly different set of files.

I also have a silly Microsoft Excel intro video from the 1980s that's about 15 minutes long.  It's not NeXT-related obviously, but it's worth a chuckle.
