Hi, all.
I am looking for more real estate now, so I thought of switching from 1024x768 to 1280x1024, and I wondered how I should go about doing that. I'm guessing that I can use Configure.app to change the screen resolution and the mouse resolution, and then reboot. Is that it?
Thanks.
I suppose you are running VMware Fusion as mentioned in the other threads?
If you want to change resolution beyond 1024 x 768 make sure you are using the latest version of the VMwareFB driver:
https://github.com/andreas-g/VMwareFB/downloadsAs you already mentioned you have to change the settings of the mouse driver too.
The driver always worked well for me, but i still recommend making a backup of your virtual machine before changing the driver's settings.
Yes, I am going to make a snapshot of the VM before I start. :) I don't want to have to go through the entire process of reinstalling everything in that VM. I love NeXT, but not enough to reinstall it because of a crash, if I don't have to. 8)
I'll make sure I have the latest driver, then try it and see what happens.
Also, I must be running a really old version of the display driver: it's v1.00. I will definitely update that.
Andreas, thanks for the link. I have now updated my NS3.3 VM with new versions of the mouse driver, the display driver, and network driver. And, I have the display running at 1280x1024. Thanks!
Edited to add: I now have my OPENSTEP 4.2 VM updated with the same drivers, running at 1280x1024.
