I've had some time to spend on the nextstation today and was working on it without the cover. I happened to touch the cpu heatsink and it seemed overly hot. Upon further inspection, it turns out the thermal paste (Not sure if factory or user applied) had dried and cracked creating what I would call channels. This allowed for dust to get trapped which was holding the heat. Long story short I cleaned the surface and applied some arctic silver. The surface temperature is now noticeably cooler. This may be worth checking the next time you have the cover off.
