Title: Just installed OPENSTEP on an Axil 320

Two weekends ago I picked up an Axil 320, a SPARCstation 20 clone, that I had seen at the local computer recycler for the last few months.  Last week I accumulated some missing pieces (a frame buffer and a HDD - I swore that I had spares, but I guess not).  The disk showed up today, so, after installing the disk in the system, I installed OPENSTEP 4.2.

The Axil is a dual processor (60MHz SuperSPARCs) with 160M of memory.  I only ever ran NeXTSTEP on an '030 slab and an '030 cube before, so this systems feel pretty peppy.

Now that I have it running, I need to decide what I will use it for.

Please post some photographs of the machine running OPENSTEP!

I now have 416M of memory in it and it runs OPENSTEP very well.

I am not using a Sun display; it has a LCD monitor and a 13W3 to VGA adapter (like the rest of my Sun boxes).

I still haven't found a web browser to run on it. The copy of OmniWeb that I found says that it is an expired demo.

Anyway, here are pictures:

After I took the photos, I fixed the date.

I am guessing that NEXTSTEP does not detect / support dual processors. Do you see any indication in the running system to the contrary?

Thanks.

type "hostinfo" and hit enter in the terminal an you'll know. but I also expect OPENSTEP to not detect the second CPU.

Yes, it is only making use of one processor.

hostinfo reports that the kernel is configured for single processor only and that 1 processor is physically available.
