After more hours than I care to admit, I finally got to see this tonight:
nextstationcolorturbo> ./lynx -version
Lynx Version 2.8.7rel.2 (21 Jun 2010)
libwww-FM 2.14
Built on nextstep3 Mon Oct 28 2013 22:58:01 PST

http://lynx.isc.org/ and the online help for more information.
The software world is still pretty new to me, so there is quite a learning curve. I'll try to get downloads up on my site this weekend if anyone is interested.
If you can make it available, that would be nice, thanks !
I wonder what libWWW can do.
I'm actually shocked at how fast this version runs to be honest. It makes downloading files from the archive here a breeze. At any rate here is a download link:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/291070/Next/lynx2.8.7.next.tar.gzJust do a 'make install' and you should be good to go. I haven't figured out how to make installers yet.

It seems that the archive on the above link is unfortunatly broken.
While unpacking it gives:
gzip: lynx2.8.7.next.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error
gzip: lynx2.8.7.next.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--length error
yes, corrupt file :(
Sorry guys, I will have a look this weekend.

Thanks Brian, the package seems to be ok now :)
Unfortunatly I could only try on intel so far, but as this version of lynx is m68k only, cannot yet confirm.
